Imagine celebrating Christmas not with snow, but with shimmering blue waters, colourful marine life, and a festive surprise swimming right past you. That’s exactly what awaits at Aquaria KLCC, where the holiday season takes on an extraordinary, tropical twist — starring Santa Claus himself… underwater.
Each December, the iconic oceanarium unveils one of Malaysia’s most unique festive traditions. Santa trades his sleigh for scuba gear and dives into the vast ocean tank, surrounded by sharks, rays, and vibrant schools of fish. Dressed fully in his red suit, he glides gracefully through the water, waving and posing for visitors as he floats past the 360° viewing tunnel. The contrast of bright Christmas red against deep ocean blue makes every moment pop — perfect for eye-catching holiday photos and memorable family moments.
This special appearance isn’t just a quick swim-by. From mid-December to 25 December, the underwater shows take place daily, complete with exciting feeding sessions that bring even more wonder to the experience. Children and adults gather to watch Santa interact with the marine creatures, creating a festive atmosphere that is joyous, imaginative, and unlike anything found in the usual winter destinations.
Widely featured in local media and beloved by travellers from around the world, Underwater Santa at Aquaria KLCC has become a must-visit holiday highlight. It’s a playful celebration that showcases Malaysia’s creativity, warmth, and vibrant festive spirit — making it a standout Christmas attraction you won’t forget.
